It's not as if I don't try To let others see my face Regardless of my efforts I feel like a disgrace So I let the world spin Let them laugh at my stride Yet, I force myself to walk With my dignity at my side The world moves with me Beneath me and around Though the footfalls are hard They do not make a sound The silence is screaming Fear moves within the night Though the cold black surrounds me I continue to fight If I say it enough I might believe it myself For now, I grow weary I place my dignity on a shelf
